Aventura Real Estate Information

Aventura is located in southern Florida. The city is in Miami-Dade County. It is a well planned, suburban Miami city. The name of the city is the Spanish word for "Adventure.” According to the U.S. Census estimates of 2007, the city had a population of 29,475. Much of Aventura was built during the late 70s and into the 80s. The first buildings were high-rise apartments and condominiums. On the former marshlands of Biscayne Gardens, on November 7, 1995, the Aventura was incorporated. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 9.1 km2. 7.0 km2 of it is land and 2.1 km2 of it is water. Aventura has a tropical climate. Aventura receives abundant rainfall. Most of this rainfall occurs from mid-May through early October. Aventura is between two of south Florida's major airports: the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and the Miami International Airport. Driving time to either airport is only about fifteen minutes. Aventura is served by the Miami-Dade County Public Schools system. Famous places which are worth visiting are • The Aventura Mall, a large shopping center located in the center of Adventura. • Founders Park is the city’s exclusive park • An outdoor mall named the Shops at Waterways. • While outside the city limits, some of south Florida's most beautiful and enjoyable beaches are just a few miles away from Aventura.

The climate of the area is tropical, although there are some cold fronts that work their way through the area beginning as early as November and sometimes not ending until March. The remainder of the time is warm with humidity, even during the times between cold fronts. Beginning in May, the rainy season lasts until September. This is also hurricane season in southern Florida.
